UZH (University of Zurich) Summer School – “Embodiment and Morphological Computation”


Vladimir Petrović attended UZH Summer School (eSMCs Summer School “Embodiment and Morphological Computation”), Zurich, Switzerland, 22.-28. September 2013.

The lecturers were, distinguished professors and researchers from all over the world: University of Washington (Seattle, USA), University of Zurich (Zurich, Switzerland), ETH (Zurich, Switzerland), EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland), University of Vermont (USA), École Normale Supérieure (Paris, France), Max Planck Institute (Leipzig, Germany), University of Münster (Münster, Germany)… Laboratory exercises were provided by organizers – Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at University of Zurich.

MeSRoB 2013 and lecture of Prof. Yoshihiko Nakamura


Prof. Yoshihiko Nakamura (Director of Robotics Laboratory, Department of Mechano-Informatics, University of Tokyo) will hold a plenary lecture “From Recent Studies of Humanoid Robotics” at the Main Hall of Institute Mihajlo Pupin (9:30h, 9th July, 2013.), within International Workshop MeSRoB 2013.

Also, International Workshop “New Trends in Medical and Service Robotics” (MeSRoB 2013) will be held at Institute Mihajlo Pupin (11th-12th July, 9:00h-17:00h). Participation of 29 lecturers from 14 European countries, Japan and Russia ensures very high scientific level.

ICRA 2013


The 2013 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2013) was held on May 6-10, 2013 in Germany, in Karlsruhe. The conference theme was “Anthropomatics – Technologies for Humans”, highlighting the paramount role of Robotics and Automation in improving human quality of life.

Presentation of the NAO robot at ETF


Presentation of the NAO robot will be held at ETF (16th of april, 12h, amphitheater 65). The main idea of the event is to demonstrate abilities of one of the most advanced humanoid robots in the world – NAO. Nao (58cm – height) is able to talk and make intelligent decisions. It can also walk, run, hit the ball, climb up the stairs, dance, react on voice commands…

Brain Awareness Week


For the third time in a row, School of Electrical Engineering is organising gathering during the Brain Awareness Week. PhD, Master and Bachelor students will show their results in acquisition, processing and analysis of electrophysiological signals (brain, muscle). BAW gathering include series of lectures, poster section, interactive demonstrations and competition between participants.

National Instruments Mechatronics/Robotics Workshop


National Instruments Mechatronics / Robotics Workshop will be held in Belgrade on the 14th of March. The main goal of the seminar/workshop is to describe how to use LabVIEW in domains like control design, simulation, automation, mechatronics, robotics. We will discuss software and hardware platforms with proper demonstration and follow with workshop where we bring several DaNI robots where all attendees can have hands-on experience.
